This role sits in the Council’s Community Group, which comprises of community focused services such as Hamilton Pool, Parks and Recreation, Hamilton City Libraries and the city’s three main visitor attractions.
The Parks and Recreation team maintain and development of Hamilton’s Park network for our community. Our work ensures Hamilton is beautiful, fun, connected, and meets our community wants and needs, making our city one we’re all proud of.

Our Parks and Recreation team are looking for an Amenity's Apprentice to join our team. If you think this could be you – let’s talk!
If you have a passion for horticulture tis role is a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge within the field. This role includes... facilities maintenance, litter collection, assisting, where needed, in gardens, mowing and agrichemical applications.
Attitude is everything within this role and we value a positive attitude. This role will provide you a great opportunity to contribute to helping us achieve our purpose of improving the wellbeing of Hamiltonians and our purpose of showing that Hamilton is the best place to live.

Qualifications

- NCEA Level 1 English, Mathematics
- Current Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Exhibit a keen interest in Horticulture
- Good level of fitness

Starting at $28.95 per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
