Job Description

Halton HealthCare Service’s Eating Disorders Program provides multi-disciplinary outpatient assessment and treatment for children, teens and adults with eating disorders. The program functions within a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient mental health program serving children in Halton and South Peel regions and adults in Halton Region.

• Provide nutritional assessment to children, adolescents and adults within the context of evidence based treatment for eating disorders

• Provide education and follow-up to individuals and/or families where clinically indicated

Co-facilitate psychoeducation groups covering general topics with regards to nutrition, effects of eating disorders, influencing factors in development of and treatment of eating disorders, weight bias and weight science

• Review patient eating diaries and provide feedback to therapists

• Liaise with community physicians and others as needed

• Act as a specialist within the multi-disciplinary team

• Act as a consultant to other health professionals advising on nutritional aspects of care, appropriate literature and resources to use, and providing training as required

Participate in collaborative treatment planning, and evaluation of clinical outcomes, in patients across the lifespan

Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports

Contribute to program rounds and consult meetings

Contribute to program development and evaluation

Qualifications

 

  • Registered Dietitian
  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Knowledge of disordered eating and its effects on nutrition, body composition and metabolic parameters
  • Knowledge of best practices in the treatment of eating disorders including CBT-E(D) and FBT
  • Knowledge of Intuitive Eating Principles
  • Experience working with individuals with a mental health diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Experience in facilitating groups
  • Skills and competencies to quickly establish supportive, trusting relationships with patients
  • Demonstrated communication skills in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of community and professional resources in Eating Disorders.

Salary: $40.911 to $57.695 per hour
