Job Description

You will be part of a dynamic Volunteer Services team who are very fortunate to have a diverse team of over 1,200 volunteers across three hospitals and multiple community sites.  Our volunteers provide invaluable support to staff, credentialed staff and learners as well as a warm and welcoming experience for patients and visitors. Working out of our Georgetown Hospital, the Coordinator of Volunteer Services will be involved in corporate initiatives at Milton and Oakville Hospitals, building capacity and enhancing our youth volunteer program.  

The Coordinator of Volunteer Services provides day-to-day coordination of the adult and youth volunteers at Georgetown Hospital. Responsible for all aspects of the Volunteer Development Cycle, including recruitment, selection, placement, training, risk management, orientation, evaluation, supervision and recognition of all volunteers. The Coordinator performs all related administrative functions, including volunteer databases. This position works in partnership with the Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association and coordinates the high school co-operative education program.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Undergraduate Degree Program
  • Volunteer Management Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience leading adult and youth volunteers (minimum three years)
  • Experience working in a health care setting is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Proficient in volunteer database use, preferably VSys One or Better Impact
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with strong time-management skills
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record

The ideal candidate should be patient/customer focused; a team player; an effective communicator and problem solver; caring and respectful; and fiscally responsible.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Friday, days, 7.5 hour shifts (occasional evening and weekend hours as needed).  Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

Salary:  $31.750 to $39.730 per hour
