Job Description
Work as a Registered Practical Nurse providing foot care for patients. Service will be provided to hospital in-patients and out-patients of the Foot Care and Orthotic Centre. As well, provide foot care to residents in Long-term Care (LTC) and Retirement Homes under contract. Pick up and drop off equipment and supplies from our off site clinic to the LTC homes and back. Provide nursing foot care in LTC and/or retirement resident rooms or in a common treatment room following all infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Successful completion of an Advanced Foot Care Certification required
- Experience providing Advanced Foot Care to LTC residents for a minimum of 2 years - required
- Gentle Persuasive Approach certification – preferred
- Experience and courses related to the treatment of diabetic foot care & nail pathology - required
- Self-directed, organized and able to work effectively as a member of a team
- Caring and compassionate attitude towards patients and families
- Superior verbal communication and customer service skills
- Evidence of commitment to continuous learning
- Must have valid Ontario Driver's License and access to own transportation as position requires regular travel to visit patients at various locations throughout the Region of Halton
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including: frequent standing and walking, forward bending, pushing/pulling and reaching. Some overhead reaching, squatting, climbing and lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Hours: Monday to Friday - Days; 7.5 hour shifts; 08:00-16:00 (hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
Salary: $33.26 to $35.97 per hour
