Job Description
The Diagnostic Imaging departments of Halton Healthcare take great pride in knowing we are providing a high quality and safe service within a patient and family centered environment. Guided by our core values of caring, communication, teamwork, respect and competency the Diagnostic Imaging team is committed to providing our patients access to the best possible care at the time they need it most.
The Halton Healthcare MRI department has 3 scanners in Oakville, 2 Siemens Aera 1.5T, 1 Siemens Skrya 3T and one scanner at the Milton site, Siemens Aera 1.5T.
A rare gift that our department possesses is the caring and friendly atmosphere we share with patients and their families. Our staff work very closely together as an interprofessional team with the common goal of providing patients with a positive and memorable experience.
As an integral member of the Medical Imaging team to be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocol and standards. You will participate as a team member to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
- Performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals.
- Operating, troubleshooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner.
- Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results; attendance at meetings as required.
- Assistance in preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, data processing, responsible for teaching, training, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities.
- Observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and designing imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality.
- Adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Performing other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care and cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested.
Qualifications

- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Completion of a recognized post diploma program in MRI, or recognized equivalent with MRI certification
- Current RTMR certification, BCLS and Level II: Basic Rescuer certification required
- Cross-sectional Anatomy and Contrast injection course required
- Proficient with Word and using a computer
- Excellent problem recognition, problem solving and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Additional Information
Hours: Monday to Sunday; 7.5 hour shifts with on call responsibilities - Subject to change based on operational requirements.

Salary: $42.242 - $54.864 per hour
