The Evergreen Center is a private non-profit organization that provides living and learning environments for children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs. We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to become our Director of Health Services who will act as a consultant to the nurses who provide health care support in the Residential Treatment, Adult Supports, and Community Services Programs. The Director will supervise the staff in the Residential and Adult Supports Nursing Department and be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. The Director will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing consultation for individuals with extraordinary health needs.

Job Description
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary health services team to deliver high-quality, person-centered care in alignment with organizational values and clinical best practices.
- Oversee the coordination and strategic deployment of nursing assignments, ensuring effective coverage, staff satisfaction, and continuity of care across programs.
- Champion family and stakeholder engagement by facilitating transparent, compassionate communication regarding individual health needs and treatment plans.
- Design and implement innovative training programs for all staff on health, safety, chronic conditions, medication administration, and emergency response protocols.
- Serve as a key voice on interdisciplinary teams, contributing clinical insight to individual service plans (ISPs), educational plans (IEPs), case conferences, admissions, and discharge planning.
- Evaluate and shape organizational policies and procedures related to health, safety, and regulatory compliance (including OSHA standards), ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor health outcomes and incident trends to drive data-informed decision making, proactive interventions, and continuous quality enhancement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
- Licensed by the Board of Registration in Nursing in the state of Massachusetts
- (5) years of nursing experience
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Certification in Development Disabilities Nursing (CDDN) Preferred
