Job Description
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating, and delivering projects across the utilities and infrastructure portfolio. You’ll work closely with field teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to technical specifications.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating project delivery, including schedules, resources, and on-site teams
- Reviewing and interpreting designs, plans, and technical specifications
- Ensuring compliance with contracts, budgets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships
- Identifying and recommending process improvements, technical solutions, and risk mitigation strategies
Qualifications
About You
You are a technically capable, passionate engineer with experience in utilities or civil infrastructure projects. You thrive in a hands-on role, enjoy problem-solving, and can balance technical detail with practical delivery.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil or related)
- Experience in project coordination, civil infrastructure, or utilities delivery
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to translate designs into practical outcomes
- Knowledge of project management, contract compliance, and site coordination
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Flexible and able to travel around the Waikato and wider region
