WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Trade & Customs Manager you will lead local customs and trade operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with global standards while driving continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Oversee daily import/export operations, including customs clearance, logistics formalities, and documentation for all international flows of goods (commercial and non-commercial).
  • Implementing continuous improvements and optimisation of customs operations to ensure efficiency, quality and sustainability.
  • Lead and develop the Trade and Customs Team, building a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Manage local trade budgets and monitor import/export costs to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Tax, Accounting, and Logistics to ensure compliance and smooth operations.
  • Work closely with regional and central teams to align with global trade policies and standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate customs processes.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and ensure alignment with global KPIs.
  • Act as the key contact for customs authorities, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Lead audits, investigations, and post-entry reviews, ensuring corrective actions are implemented when needed.

Key collaborators include regional and central Trade & Customs, Logistics and Warehouse, Tax and Accounting teams, customs brokers, transport service providers, customs authorities and other internal and external stakeholders across Supply Chain.

WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with…

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs operations and trade compliance in a senior role, ideally within freight forwarding or a customs brokerage environment
  • Solid expertise in import/export processes, customs regulations, and international trade practices, as well as a good understanding of EU and international trade flows
  • Experience in managing customs-related risks and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations
  • High level of commercial and financial acumen, including experience in budget management and cost control
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage external partners
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at different levels of seniority
