Job Description

Is this your next challenge?

As a Global Component Developer, you have ownership in securing component development process end to end, which involves component risk assessment, securing quality based on H&M’s requirements.

You have a strong technical knowledge and a deep understanding of sustainable standards and component attributes such as yarn, wash and print for jersey, woven and heavy knit.

Being able to identify what a fabric is made of, fabric composition, dying, printing method. Understanding yarn numbers, weights, weaving methods, construction, processes.

Being able to offer technical solutions to change physical aspects of a fabric or offer alternative components. 

Ensure best options in terms of quality, price and lead time in alignment with &Other Stories expectations and sustainability roadmap.

You are responsible for educating and developing suppliers in terms of brand DNA to secure the Premium quality and complexity level.  

You follow sustainability trends and innovations closely with global market always with &Other Stories sustainability goals as top of mind.

Ensure material libraries are maintained and aligned globally according to the Brand strategy.

Keep systems updated with all relevant information and price connected to components.

You act with high levels of professionalism at all times while at the same time behaving as an ambassador of &Other Stories and H&M group values towards everyone you engage with.

Qualifications

Who are you?

You enjoy working with a diverse team globally.

You have experience in similar Global Material sourcing and Material Technician role working with Premium Brands. Strong expertise on European fabric and yarn mills will be a plus.

You have a proactive and problem-solving approach to both identify and apply solutions to development and production material issues.

You are business minded with strong negotiation skills and a vast understanding of pricing from a regional and global perspective.

You interpret global trends & sustainable innovations into new component opportunities to strengthen our customer offer.

You understand the competitive environment to be able to drive the strategy aligned with our customer expectations and &Other Stories’ s goals.

Collaborative teamwork and communication is key in everything we do. You work hand in hand with all stakeholders to co-execute the strategies and activities set from Brand and Production. 

Quick learner, you are comfortable with new technologies and to handle systems.
