The ARKET café is based on the principles of the New Nordic Food Manifesto. The menu has been developed to express the freshness and simplicity naturally associated with our region and blends traditional Scandinavian flavours with modern and global influences. The café also aims to reflect the changing seasons through ingredients that distinguish the climate and landscapes of each local region.

As a café team member – Shift Leader, your main responsibilities include:

• Put the guest first: Welcome guests and actively attend their orders, questions and needs in a warm and genuine way.

• Food quality: Prepare and provide food products at a consistently high standard. You help your team with preparing mice-en-place, update food prep checklist, and support actively with getting ready the food and pastries for customers.

• Drinks quality: Prepare and provide coffee and non-coffee based drinks at a consistently high standard. You help your team with preparing mice-en-place of coffee and drinks, update drinks prep checklist, and support actively with getting ready for serving the drinks for customers.

• Lead support: You support the manager and assistant manager with the ordering and reception of goods, and guiding the team during opening and/or closing. You help to make sure the Café is up to demand of the day and that the area is up to hygiene standards upon closing. You cover the assistant manager during holidays and absence periods.

• Provide a welcoming environment: As a team member you help to keep clean and tidy the café in both, customer sitting area and your workspace.

• Live ARKET: Promote the culture, values and concept of the café as a whole.

Skills & Qualifications

• You have a clear understanding of “clean-as-you-go”, FIFO stock system, and HACCP rules and regulations applied to a food & drinks environment.

• You are passionate about preparing food, coffee and drinks, the vegetarian lifestyle, and food sustainability.

• You have customer service skills and enjoy attending guests with a constant high-quality customer service during calm and busy periods.

• You have organization skills: you are capable of keeping up to standard the cleanliness of working tools and working space.

• You have a positive attitude and act with warmth and in a genuine way.

• You have team working skills and enjoy working in a diverse team.

• You are able to work at a fast-paced environment while keeping high-quality standards.

• You are passionate about quality and sustainability as a whole.

• You take ownership of your role as Café Team Member and actively drive sales.

• You are reliable, flexible and available on days with most customers (Fridays, Weekends).

• You can communicate effectively in the English language.

• You have minimum 6 months of experience as leading support in the HoReCa sector, or educational background in Culinary Arts/ Restaurant management (MBO/HBO).
