This includes maintaining, enhancing, optimizing, and supporting a wide range of complex applications.   • Duration: Full-time for 1 year (Nov 27, 2023 - Nov 22, 2024) with the potential for extension.
  • Location: Option to work remotely within New Brunswick or onsite in Fredericton, NB. 
  • Non-disclosure agreement signing and Privacy Training completion are prerequisites.
  • Technology devices necessary for the role will be provided. 

Job Description

Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Team Lead, the Quality Assurance Analyst will:

  • Collaborate with Project Teams to evaluate quality using various methods and tools.
  • Produce deliverables as described in the Deliverable Assessment Framework.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing, maintain performance testing initiatives, ensure application quality, adhere to government IT policies, and more.
  • The position might require after-hours and overtime weekend work, subject to prior approval.

General Duties:

  • Create and maintain performance testing initiatives and adhere to best practices;
  • Completion of the QA deliverables as defined in the Deliverable Assessment Framework. These activities will be identified and managed as part of the project or maintenance release plans;
  • Ensure the quality of applications based on defined scope and project requirements and meetings with project stakeholders;
  • Ensure compliance with government IT policies, procedures, and security standards;
  • Communicate regularly with Project/Team Representatives and participate in Quality review sessions;
  • Stay informed regarding project direction and context as applicable:
  • Attend team status meetings
  • Attend working group meetings as required
  • Work with various IT resources during the design, development, and implementation of IT Projects/Releases;
  • Work with the existing QA team members to ensure a knowledge transfer at the end of the assignment
  • Develop user documentation and procedures.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Health Sciences, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • At least 8 years of testing experience, including various testing types.
  • At least 8 years of experience in quality assurance and system testing best practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a QA leadership role.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Availability to start work in Fredericton by a specified date.
  • Ability to start work around the specified date.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • 6+ years of experience in security relating to data confidentiality, database, and application design.
  • 6+ years of proficiency in tools like JMeter and knowledge of Quality Assurance frameworks.
  • Advanced experience with SQL in a QA setting.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies such as Waterfall, Waterscrum, Agile, and more.
  • Experience with tools like HP Quality Center, HP WebInspect, SOAPUI, etc.
  • Experience with Health Care and Electronic Health Records in a Canadian context.
