AI Solutions Architect / AI Engineer
- Full-time
Job Description
About the role
Guzman y Gomez is one of Australia's most recognisable food brands with a growing presence throughout Australia. As we continue to scale, we're investing in AI and intelligent automation to drive meaningful improvements in how we operate.
We're looking for an AI Solutions Architect / AI Engineer to join our technology team and lead the design and delivery of AI-driven solutions across the business. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities, validate ideas through rapid prototyping, and take solutions through to production-grade deployment.
This is a hands-on role that spans business partnership, solution architecture, and applied engineering. You'll own the full journey from idea to impact.
What you'll do:
- Work with business leaders to identify high-value AI and automation opportunities, translating operational challenges into solution designs
- Build fast, functional prototypes to validate concepts and demonstrate value
- Design and implement production-ready AI solutions that are scalable, observable, secure, and cost-efficient
- Define end-to-end architectures covering model orchestration, data integration, APIs, event-driven patterns, and human-in-the-loop workflows
- Embed solutions into existing enterprise systems and establish deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute reusable AI patterns and accelerators, and help establish best practices for the AI development lifecycle
- Mentor engineers and help uplift AI capability across the technology team
What you'll bring:
- Hands-on experience with generative AI / LLMs, AI agents and orchestration frameworks, RAG, and prompt engineering
- Proven experience integrating AI into real business workflows, not just proofs of concept
- Strong development capability in Python (preferred) or TypeScript/JavaScript
- Experience building and consuming APIs
- Familiarity with modern practices: version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
- Solution design across distributed and cloud-native environments
- Event-driven and microservices architectures
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Outcome-focused with a bias for action and rapid delivery
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping problems from the ground up
- Strong communicator able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Highly desirable, but not essential:
- Experience with multi-agent or autonomous workflow systems
- Human-in-the-loop AI design
- Exposure to responsible AI, governance, and risk controls
- AWS, Azure, or GCP AI services, vector databases, or containerisation
- Background in fast-paced, product-led environments
What's in it for you?
- Competitive base salary and annual short term incentive potential
- Generous long-term incentive scheme (GYG shares, with 3 year vesting period)
- The opportunity to work within a talented, fast-moving and high-performing technology team
- Convenient office location in Surry Hills, a short walk from Central Station (4 days in-office, 1 day WFH)
