Job Description

Working under the guidance of the supervisor, you're responsible for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant. This position will report to the Superintendant.

  • The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
    • Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring and reporting process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities
    • Provide operational support & troubleshooting for plant operations
    • Maintain required inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, & consumables
    • Create maintenance requests
    • Monitor Lift Stations as required
    • Complete and compile data of daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required
    • Perform maintenance tasks as requested by the supervisor
    • Perform laboratory analysis and reporting
    • Preparation weekly, monthly, annual reports as required
    • Provide training and mentorship to plant operational staff
    • Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely)
    • Participate, enforce, and comply with all aspects of the company's health and safety program

Hours of Work

The Operator position will be a 8/6 day rotation (8 days off, 6 days off), 8 to 10 hrs/d.

Qualifications

  • Be a Canadian citizen
  • Current WTP Level III min (proof of certification is required);
  • Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb);
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Strong independent worker and team player
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to supervise and communicate with staff members
  • Positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH.
