Job Description
The Inventory Control Supervisor plays a critical part in driving inventory accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through the implementation of best practices and lean methodologies. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of inventory systems and processes aligned with company goals and production requirements.
Inventory Management & Control
- Monitor on-hand, in-transit, and on order material daily; flag risks;
- Own inventory accuracy;
- Maintain inventory accuracy and turns through controls and physical inventories, ensuring compliance with reporting standards;
- Establish and enforce strong inventory control processes, including cycle counting, reconciliation, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-through.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and publish reports covering inventory performance and forecast accuracy;
- Drive creation and maintenance of dashboards for visibility into replenishment, backorders, supplier performance, and inventory risk;
- Use data to challenge decisions, model scenarios, and recommend corrective actions;
- Report on KPIs and drive actions based on data and root-cause analysis.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the demand planning cycle for all product categories, including rolling forecasts, trend analysis, seasonality, and new product introductions;
- Analyze demand trends for strategic planning and inventory management;
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Project Management to validate demand assumptions and resolve forecast gaps;
- Build and maintain forecast accuracy dashboards; implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce bias and variability.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Set clear goals, provide coaching, and foster an environment of accountability and continuous improvement;
- Align workload across the team and ensure high execution standards in analysis, reporting, and inventory control tasks.
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years’ related experience in materials management, production planning, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment;
- Previous experience with a steel mill, metal service center, fabrication plant or heavy manufacturing environment preferred;
- Demonstrated experience supervising and developing teams;
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and Google Suite;
- Advanced problem-solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels;
- Experience with project management and implementation of new technologies or processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making;
- Proven track record in managing supplier relationships, inventory control, and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental policies.

Salary Range:
$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annually
