JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises and coordinates loading company products for all production operations.  Supervises and coordinates bay transfer truck and crane moves.  Manage all yard operations and housekeeping.  
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assigns job tasks to workers according to loading and production schedules.

• Observes loading of trailers to determine conformance to loading patterns and to prevent shifting or damage to materials or products during transit.

• Verifies materials loaded against work order or bill of lading.

• Inspects all materials for damage prior to loading.

• Directs workers to move materials or products to storage areas or load for shipment and yard operations.

• Ensures completion of shipping documents, including quality control stamps, etc.

• Supervises employees in the loading area of production; trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems; enforces safety standards.

• Attends and participates in Production meetings.

• Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, coworkers, clients, and supervisors.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• One to three years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Possess effective communication skills.

• Ability to write routine reports.

• Ability to read a tape measure.

• Ability to operate all yard equipment including shuttlelift, cranes, forklifts, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The ability to stand continuously is essential with walking and sitting. The nature of the position will require employee to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (60-100lbs.) to climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Repetitive finger motions are required. Vision requirements include; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
