Job Description

As a Senior Research Fellow, you will lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary research program focused on improving early care and recovery for children with burns and trauma. You will drive high-impact research from design through to translation, working closely with clinicians, consumers and policy partners to deliver meaningful improvements in health outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and delivery of clinical trials, cohort studies and implementation research
  • Driving collaborative research partnerships with clinicians, health services and policy stakeholders
  • Securing competitive research funding (e.g. NHMRC, MRFF) and contributing to strategic research growth
  • Leading research outputs including high-impact publications, reports and policy briefs
  • Mentoring and supervising researchers, while managing multi-site projects, governance and compliance requirements

This is a fixed term (two year), full time position primarily based in Brisbane at the Queensland Children's Hospital. As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Senior Research Fellow range $143,418 - $165,374 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $167,799 - $193,487 per annum.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong track record of research leadership and a passion for improving child health outcomes through collaboration and innovation.

You will also have:

  • A PhD in a relevant health discipline and significant postdoctoral research experience in a comparable field
  • A strong record of securing or contributing to competitive research funding and building sustainable research programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians and community partners
  • Proven capacity to lead, mentor and develop researchers across career stages
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence research translation and impact
