We are seeking three (3) inspiring Lecturers (Level B) in Social Work to join our School of Allied Health, Sport and Social Work within Griffith Health. Job Description

As a Lecturer (Level B), you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of social workers through innovative, student-centered, and practice-informed teaching.

We are especially interested in candidates with expertise across one or more of the following key fields of social work practice:

  • Domestic and family violence, including trauma-informed and safety-focused practice
  • Individual, group and community work skills grounded in social justice and empowerment
  • Practice with First Nations peoples and communities
  • Applied social work skills that bridge theory, policy and professional practice
  • Applied practice experience informing authentic and work-integrated learning
  • Social work research methods, including the teaching and application of qualitative and/or quantitative approaches

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver and coordinate high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate Social Work courses
  • Design applied learning experiences that prepare students for professional practice
  • Embed practice-based skills, simulations, research literacy and work-integrated learning into curricula
  • Strengthen student employability through industry, community and professional partnerships
  • Contribute to the scholarship of learning and teaching with relevance to policy and practice

About You

  • You are a passionate social work educator who thrives on developing capable, reflective, and ethical graduates. You will bring:
  • A doctoral or masters qualification (or equivalent accreditation and standing with significant professional experience) in Social Work or a related field
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more applied fields of practice, including domestic and family violence, interpersonal and group work, individual and community practice, applied social work skills and/or research methods
  • A strong commitment to practice-informed, student-centred teaching
  • Experience coordinating courses and contributing to program quality and accreditation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively and embody the values and behaviours that include collegiality and respectful interprofessional practice and engagement

These are continuing, full time positions primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $113,226 - $134,460 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $132,474 - $157,318 per annum.
