Job Description
Griffith University is seeking a locally based consultant to support international student recruitment and engagement across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. As a Regional Marketing Manager, you will be the University’s representative in the region—working directly with education agents, strategic partners, and future students to promote Griffith’s offerings and strengthen its presence.
This full-time, two-year contract role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team within Griffith International, making a tangible impact in the lives of students while advancing Griffith’s global vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies and student recruitment initiatives in partnership with Griffith’s international team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, partners, institutions, and government bodies.
- Represent Griffith at events, exhibitions, and student-facing activities across the region.
- Provide training and support to education agents to improve student conversion outcomes.
- Offer on-the-ground insights into local trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with Griffith academic groups to align marketing activity with recruitment goals.
- Monitor and report on budgets and travel compliance, following Griffith’s policies.
About You
You are an experienced international marketing professional with a deep understanding of the education sector, especially within Southern China. You thrive in cross-cultural settings and can independently manage a complex workload under broad direction.
To succeed, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience in international education marketing and student recruitment.
- Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
- Proven ability to identify recruitment opportunities and develop effective marketing strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian higher education landscape and compliance frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A valid work permit for China or the ability to obtain one.
What We Offer
This is a consulting position, not an expatriate package. A competitive fee-for-service remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
