The Cities Research Institute is a unique trans-disciplinary and transformative research facility at Griffith University focussed on cities and processes of urbanisation. It undertakes research on the complex processes of urbanisation to help government, industry and communities in addressing the major policy challenges facing Australian cities in their Asia-Pacific regional context. Our research experts span a wide range of disciplinary fields, from transport and land use planners to civil engineers; systems modellers to environmental scientists, economic and social researchers to coastal engineers; and from geographers to architects.
Job Description
The Research Project Development Manager position involves supporting the development of new research projects in any of the areas of research focus within the Cities Research Institute (CRI), Australia’s largest research facility focused on all aspects of cities and processes of urbanisation. The principal objective of the CRI is to carry out high quality research that underpins the development and implementation of meaningful and useful solutions to the challenges facing cities throughout Australasia.
The Research Project Development Manager will work closely with the Director of the Cities Research Institute and other senior academic members to help develop robust research proposals, and will be expected to contribute to building the research capacity of the CRI, and to implement relevant aspects of the CRI’s strategic plan and relevant plans of Griffith Sciences and Griffith University.
What we can offer
This is a continuing, full-time appointment contingent on funding and is primarily based at the Griffith University Cities Research Institute at the Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Salary range
The base salary for full time Research Project Development Manager will be Hew 8 range $105,596 - $118,792 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $123,547 - $138,987 per annum.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess a PhD in a relevant discipline or significant relevant experience in research development and management, in addition you will demonstrate:
- A proven ability to prepare competitive research grant applications and consultancy proposals
- Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to identify new research funding opportunities
