About the Opportunity
The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economic (AFE) is seeking an accomplished and dynamic individual to join our department as an Associate Professor in Forensic Accounting. The successful candidate will have outstanding academic achievement, communication, and leadership skills to contribute to the overall culture of excellence in research, learning and teaching, and engagement within the Department.

As an Associate Professor, you will play a key role in collaborating with the Griffith Academy of Financial Crime Investigations and Compliance (FCIC), which is led by the department.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in forensic accounting, including the development and delivery of course materials and assessments.
• Conduct research in forensic accounting, publish articles in academic journals, and present research findings at conferences and seminars.
• Provide academic and career guidance to students, serving as a mentor and advisor, and supervising students in their research projects.
• Maintain a record of scholarly activity through presentations, publications, and other forms of professional contributions.
• Contribute to the development and revision of course materials and ensure the relevance and quality of the curriculum in forensic accounting.
• Participate in the evaluation and assessment of student learning outcomes and contribute to the improvement of the program.
• Collaborate with other members, researchers, and practitioners to advance the field of forensic accounting.

This is a continuing, full-time position based at the Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University, there may be a requirement for you to work across other campus locations.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following selection criteria:

• A doctoral qualification in Accounting, Forensic Accounting, or a related field.
• Expertise in the following areas are preferred: forensic accounting and risk management and governance (in financial crime), auditing and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality teaching and engage students in the learning process.
• Demonstrated leadership in research, learning & teaching, and/or engagement
• A well-established, internationally recognised research record including publications in leading academic journals
• A strong record of generating research funds from competitive grants and/or other sources to support research
• A record of higher degree research supervision that will ensure that the Department and Griffith Business School continues its outstanding achievements in research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a collegial manner, contributing to a positive culture and the aspiration of the Department and the University.
• Demonstrated ability to network effectively to ensure working relationships are improved both internally and with national and international government, industry and community stakeholders.

Salary Range
The base salary for an Associate Professor (Level D) position is in the range $147,702 - $162,723 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $172,812 - $190,386 per annum.
