Veterinary Director - Greencross Noosa Civic

  • Part-time

Company Description

Interesting medicine. A team you can have a laugh with. A leadership role you can make your own. And Noosa to call home.

Your next career move could bring together a lot of the things you love about being a vet: working through an interesting case, helping a colleague build their confidence, and being part of a team where people pitch in and enjoy each other’s company.

At Greencross GP + Urgent Care Noosa, we’re looking for a Veterinary Director to help lead our growing service. You’ll stay hands-on with patients, have a voice in how the hospital develops, and receive support to grow your own leadership skills along the way.

Whether you’re already leading a clinic or you’re an experienced vet ready to take that next step, we’d love to meet you.

Clinical variety that keeps you interested

Our purpose-built hospital brings General Practice and Urgent Care together, combining the relationships and continuity of GP with presentations that call for timely investigation, treatment and stabilisation.

There’s room to follow cases through, put your diagnostic skills to work and keep learning. You’ll have diagnostic tools to support your investigations, an experienced nursing team beside you, and the wider Greencross network to draw on for advice and expertise. When a patient needs ongoing intensive care or specialist management, referral forms part of that care pathway.

Just as valuable is the atmosphere around you: people who want to help, share what they know and make room for a laugh along the way.

Help shape the clinic you want to work in

As Veterinary Director, you’ll influence how the team practises, learns and grows. That might mean talking through a tricky work-up, helping a vet build confidence in surgery, or turning a team suggestion into a better way of caring for patients.

You’ll:

  • Lead clinical standards across GP and Urgent Care, supporting sound judgement and thoughtful patient care.
  • Mentor and develop your veterinarians through practical guidance, case discussions and useful feedback.
  • Encourage a team culture where questions are welcomed, help is readily offered and people enjoy coming to work.
  • Work with your Hospital Manager on day-to-day priorities, team development and the client experience.
  • Partner with your Regional Clinical Director and Area Manager to guide service development and hospital performance.

People to turn to. Space to grow.

Leadership brings new challenges, and having the right people around you makes a difference.

Your Hospital Manager will be a close partner in running the hospital. Your Regional Clinical Director provides clinical guidance and mentoring, while your Area Manager supports operational and business priorities.

You’ll also join the wider Greencross Veterinary Director community: peers to exchange ideas with, talk through challenges and learn from as you find your own approach to leadership.

Through the Lincoln Institute of Learning leadership course, you’ll develop practical skills to lead people, navigate important conversations and help your team succeed.

Keep investing in yourself

Your development continues beyond leadership training, with access to:

  • All-inclusive attendance at the Greencross Connect Conference.
  • Specialist-led workshops and wet labs, including surgery, ultrasound and emergency procedures.
  • Clinical resources including VIN, Plumb’s and VECCS, plus case reviews, webinars and further learning opportunities.
  • Professional membership support, including AVA membership or Vet Board registration.
  • Support for further qualifications and memberships.
  • Paid parental leave, an Employee Assistance Program and Petbarn discounts.

Could this be your next step?

You’ll bring experience in small animal practice, confidence in medicine and surgery, and sound clinical judgement. Just as importantly, you enjoy helping others develop and communicate with care, whether you’re speaking with a worried owner or supporting a colleague.

Urgent Care or ECC experience would be valuable. We’d also love to hear from experienced GP vets with an interest in this model of care and the skills to help lead it.

You’ll hold a veterinary qualification recognised in Australia and be eligible for registration in Queensland.

And then there’s Noosa

A river walk, a swim, breakfast at your favourite café or a weekend exploring the national park. Living here means you can enjoy the place long after the holiday crowds have packed up.

Based at Noosa Civic in Noosaville, this is an opportunity to build your next chapter around engaging clinical work, people you enjoy working with and a life outside the hospital that excites you too.
