This is an exciting opportunity for a confident senior nurse who enjoys mentoring others, driving high clinical standards, and creating a positive team culture while remaining hands-on in all aspects of veterinary nursing.

There's never been a more exciting time to join Greencross Richlands. Formerly Greencross Forest Lake, our clinic relocated to a beautiful purpose-built, co-located facility in May 2025, creating a modern environment designed to support exceptional patient care, efficient workflows, and an outstanding experience for both clients and team members.

As Head Nurse, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of our clinic alongside a supportive team that is passionate about pets, committed to clinical excellence, and genuinely invested in each other's success.

Whether you're supporting complex cases, mentoring colleagues, or helping drive improvements within the clinic, you'll be joining a team that genuinely enjoys working together and takes pride in the care we provide every day.

About the Role

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you'll be a steady, dependable presence who is always thinking one step ahead. You'll lead by example, support your team, and help ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by phone, and via email
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance and repairs alongside the Practice Manager
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and clinic performance

This role offers the ideal combination of leadership, mentorship, and hands-on nursing.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Has a minimum of 3+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
  • Has previous leadership, mentoring, or senior nursing experience, or is ready to step into a leadership role
  • Enjoys coaching and developing other nurses

  • Demonstrates excellent organisational and time-management abilities
  • Is calm, friendly, empathetic, and professional
  • Has strong communication and customer service skills
