ECC Clinical Nurse Coordinator - AEC Moorabbin
- Full-time
Job Description
AEC + SC ECC Clinical Nurse Coordinator - 6 month secondment/fixed term FT position
Lead. Mentor. Influence. Make a lasting impact.
Are you an experienced ECC nurse ready to take the next step in your career?
We're looking for an ECC Clinical Nurse Coordinator to play a key leadership role within our busy multidisciplinary hospital. This is an opportunity for a senior ECC nurse who is passionate about developing others, improving standards of care, and creating a positive team culture.
This is not a traditional management role. You'll lead through influence, credibility and clinical excellence by coaching nurses in real time, supporting professional growth, holding team members accountable to high standards, and helping shape a culture where people can thrive.
Working alongside our ECC, Surgery and Medicine teams, you'll spend most of your time on the floor, providing clinical supervision, coordinating workflow and supporting nurses through the challenges and rewards of emergency and critical care.
What You'll Be Doing
Clinical Leadership
- Coordinate the day-to-day workflow of the ECC nursing team.
- Support nurses with complex cases, clinical decision-making and patient prioritisation.
- Lead by example through exceptional nursing practice and professionalism.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety and clinical excellence.
Coaching, Mentoring & Development
- Provide real-time coaching, feedback and guidance to nurses at all stages of their careers.
- Support onboarding and development of new team members.
- Identify skill gaps and learning opportunities and deliver targeted education.
- Build confidence, capability and consistency within the team.
Driving Culture & Accountability
- Foster a positive, collaborative and respectful team environment.
- Address unhelpful behaviours and support a culture of professionalism and accountability.
- Influence through trust, communication and strong relationships.
- Champion continuous improvement and help the team embrace positive change.
Improving Systems & Processes
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and help implement practical solutions.
- Contribute to SOP development and clinical process improvements.
- Support consistency in protocols, standards and clinical practices.
About You
You are an experienced ECC veterinary nurse who enjoys helping others succeed and understands the impact great leadership can have on a team.
You'll bring:
- Extensive ECC nursing experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge and confidence managing complex cases.
- A passion for mentoring, coaching and developing others.
- The ability to provide constructive feedback and navigate difficult conversations professionally.
- High emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.
- A positive, solution-focused approach.
- The confidence to influence and lead without formal authority.
- A genuine desire to improve patient care, team performance and workplace culture.
Why This Role?
This role is ideal for a senior ECC nurse who:
- Wants to make a broader impact.
- Enjoys teaching, mentoring and supporting colleagues.
- Wants to help shape the future of a high-performing ECC team.
- Is motivated by continuous improvement and clinical excellence.
- Wants to work in an established multidisciplinary hospital in ECC, alongside Surgery and Medicine specialists.
If you're ready to use your experience to develop people, strengthen culture and elevate nursing standards, we'd love to hear from you.
