Veterinary Oncology Nurse | Casual with potential for permanent position | MVSC Glen Waverley

We’re looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to join our Oncology department at MVSC, supporting patient care and working closely with our specialist team.

This is a casual role, with a clear pathway to a permanent position for the right person.

Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre is a multi-disciplinary specialist hospital supporting referring veterinarians across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

About the role

This is a hands-on oncology nursing role within a specialist hospital environment.

You’ll work closely with our specialists to provide high-quality care to oncology patients, assist with treatments, support clients through their pet’s journey, and contribute to maintaining high clinical standards within the team.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Chemotherapy administration and patient monitoring
  • Supporting oncology consultations and discharges
  • Client communication and follow-up
  • Inpatient care for oncology cases

There may also be opportunities to support other specialty services across the hospital.

About you

  • Qualified veterinary nurse with 3+ years’ experience
  • Interest in or experience with oncology nursing (highly regarded)
  • Confident inpatient monitoring and handling complex cases
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, team-focused attitude
  • And most importantly - someone who enjoys being part of a team and is always up for a bit of humour and a laugh
