Veterinary Director - Greencross West Gosford

  • Full-time

Company Description

Full Time | Leadership role with additional performance‑linked remuneration

Greencross West Gosford is seeking an experienced veterinarian ready to step into a Veterinary Director role in a clinic known for its exceptional culture, collaborative care model, and strong community connections.

This is an opportunity to lead a highly engaged, psychologically safe team where clinical excellence, communication, and wellbeing are genuinely prioritised. Alongside a competitive salary, this role offers access to a performance‑linked remuneration model, allowing your leadership decisions to directly influence clinic outcomes.

Why Greencross West Gosford?

Culture is the foundation of this clinic. Team members consistently describe an environment where people lift each other up rather than tear each other down, where feedback is constructive, learning is shared, and everyone -vets, nurses, and support staff - are treated as an equal contributor.

Care is delivered through a team‑centric primary care model, where clients are supported by a consistent care team rather than a single clinician. Nurses play an active role in client education and follow‑up, supported by scribe technology that allows vets to focus on diagnosis, problem‑solving, and treatment planning. This approach results in better continuity of care, stronger client relationships, and more sustainable workdays.

The clinic is also working toward ISFM accreditation, reflecting its commitment to stress‑free, patient‑centred care and continuous improvement.

Your Leadership Role

As Veterinary Director, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a skilled, collaborative veterinary and nursing team
  • Champion evidence‑based, preventative and best‑practice medicine
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, learning, and accountability
  • Guide clinical standards, workflows, and team development
  • Build strong, long‑term relationships with clients and the local community

In addition to your competitive base remuneration, this role includes an earnings‑linked incentive arrangement, providing a direct connection between leadership, clinic performance, and reward.

You will be supported by Greencross regional leadership and operational teams, ensuring you have the backing needed to lead confidently and sustainably.

Work–Life Balance

Work–life balance is taken seriously here. The clinic does not operate weekends, avoids overtime wherever possible, and actively encourages taking leave. Debriefing after difficult cases, finishing on time, and leaving work at the door are all part of how the team protects mental wellbeing.

Location & Lifestyle

West Gosford offers an incredible lifestyle, with easy access to beautiful beaches, national parks, and outdoor recreation, while still being conveniently located around one hour from Sydney and Newcastle. It’s an ideal setting for leaders seeking meaningful work without the pressures of inner‑city living.
