Get to Know the Team
The Growth, Insights & Planning (GIP) team drives the strategic direction for Grab Vietnam. We bridge data and business by uncovering actionable insights about our Food & Mart merchants and passengers. We move beyond raw data extraction, building robust frameworks to understand market dynamics, transaction economics, and user behavior that directly influence Grab's growth.
Get to Know the Role
You will act as a core analytical engine driving commercial growth. You will dive deep into merchant and consumer data to uncover growth levers for GrabFood and GrabMart, translating business challenges into structured, actionable insights. By applying solid problem-solving frameworks and critical thinking, you will partner closely with commercial and marketing teams to evaluate market dynamics, track transaction economics, and elevate the user experience.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Analyze business problems using structured, hypothesis-driven methods to identify growth opportunities and operational bottlenecks.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand their problem statements, convert into a data-driven question, and develop analysis frameworks
- Partner with commercial and marketing stakeholders, translating raw data into easy-to-understand business narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Utilize and optimize existing analytical frameworks (e.g., competitive positioning, merchant segmentation) to track category performance and market dynamics.
- Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) on performance fluctuations, isolating core business drivers from market noise.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, commercial analysis, or business intelligence roles.
- Structural thinking and analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), PowerBI
- Intellectual curiosity to proactively identify high-impact growth levers, while maintaining an eagerness to master market dynamics, analytical frameworks, and emerging GenAI technologies.
- Good business acumen with the ability to translate technical data into actionable commercial insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.Good to Have
- Experience building, automating, or managing end-to-end ETL data pipelines.
- Familiarity with GenAI tools (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering) to accelerate data analysis, query writing, and insight generation.
- Experience using Python or R for advanced statistical analysis or predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with the food delivery, online grocery, e-commerce, or broader O2O (Online-to-Offline) landscape in Vietnam.
