The Regional Market Insights Team plays an important role in influencing Grab's strategic and operational decisions by offering insights on industry developments and competitive dynamics. We evaluate the landscape through diverse lenses and complement traditional market research and analysis with innovative techniques.
Get to Know the Role
We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in Singapore. In this role, you will lead strategic market analysis initiatives, transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth and inform critical organizational decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover market opportunities, analyze competitive dynamics, and deliver compelling insights that shape our strategic direction. Your core focus would be in the competitive intelligence related to Grab’s Merchant ecosystem.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Market Insights Quantitative signals team, you will combine analytical rigor with innovative thinking to solve complex business challenges and mentor junior team members in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Your day to day responsibilities will include (but not limited to)
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to identify market trends, opportunities, and threats
- Create compelling data visualizations and executive-ready reports that communicate complex insights to stakeholders at all organizational levels, especially senior leadership
- Create AI based solutions incorporating LLMs which can be used for driving operational improvements
- Perform competitive intelligence analysis and market benchmarking to inform strategic positioning and pricing strategies
- Optimize data collection processes and implement best practices for data management, quality assurance, and analytical workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, strategy, and operations to translate business problems into data-driven solutions and recommendations
- Mentor and support junior data analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and analytical excellence

- Stay current with advancements in AI, data science techniques, tools, and methodologies, evaluating their applicability to enhance our market analysis capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
- Advanced programming skills in Python, R, and SQL with demonstrated ability to write efficient, scalable code
- Demonstrated expertise with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with incorporating agentic AI workflows and familiarity with AI native IDEs (eg : Cursor, Claude code)
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and causal inference
- Proficiency in data storytelling and the ability to create compelling narratives from data
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Preferred : Understanding of Merchant ecosystem in a D2C internet company setting
- Preferred : Knowledge of industry-specific market dynamics and competitive landscape analysis
- Preferred : Knowledge of market research methodologies, consumer behavior analysis, and competitive intelligence frameworks
- Preferred : Past experience of successfully developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms
