Job Description

Overall responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage mechanical engineering activities for oil & gas projects, ensuring successful delivery in line with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards while maintaining strict compliance with HSE and client requirements.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of mechanical engineering scope for onshore/offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Client standards, international codes, and project requirements.

  • Manage project schedules, resources, and deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement activities including vendor evaluation, technical bid analysis, and material approvals.
  • Supervise installation, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budget.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and site safety requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
  • Prepare and review project reports, method statements, and technical documentation.
  • Provide end-to-end project engineering leadership across Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls disciplines for all offshore platform upgrade works. 
  • Ensure full technical integration of equipment such as compressors, dryers, receivers, piping networks, valves, switchgear, MCCs, DCS/ICSS interfaces, F&G, and utility systems. 
  • Conduct detailed review and coordination of engineering deliverables from all disciplines, ensuring full compliance with CLIENT Offshore Standards, International Codes, and platform operational constraints. 
  • Lead design freeze milestones, ensuring that Mechanical, Piping, E&I deliverables are aligned and clash-free. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.

Additional Information

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience level: 8+ years
  • 03 years or more experience UAE or Middle East
  • Minimum 03 years as Project Engineer on medium to large scale projects in similar business or industry
  • HSE compliance and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

  1. Strong expertise in mechanical systems (piping, static & rotating equipment).
  2. In-depth knowledge of oil & gas industry standards and best practices.
  3. Leadership and team management skills.
  4. Strong project planning and execution capability.
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  6. Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
