Job Description
Job Purpose:
As a Land Surveyor, your primary responsibility will be to measure, map, and assess land, structures, or other physical features using specialized tools and techniques. You will play a crucial role in gathering accurate data for engineering, construction, or land development projects. Your work will involve determining boundaries, elevations, and positions, providing essential information for planning, design, and documentation purposes.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct Field Surveys: Perform field surveys using advanced surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, and laser scanners to accurately measure and map land, structures, or physical features.
Establish Property Boundaries: Identify and verify property boundaries, and precisely mark property lines, corners, and easements to ensure proper demarcation and adherence to legal requirements.
Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze survey data related to elevations, distances, angles, and other measurements. Use this data to create comprehensive survey reports, maps, and drawings.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and construction professionals to provide survey data and support for project planning, design, and construction activities.
Compliance and Safety: Adhere to surveying standards, regulations, and safety protocols during field surveys and other surveying tasks. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of survey data, ensuring that data is securely stored and easily accessible for future reference.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Previous experience in land surveying or a similar role is preferred.
Proficient knowledge and experience with surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
Additional Information
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for accurately interpreting survey data and measurements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
Familiarity with surveying standards, legal regulations, and safety practices.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in remote locations when conducting field surveys.
Proficiency in surveying software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools for data processing and mapping.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver precise and reliable results.
