Job Description
The job holder is responsible for developing and executing sales & marketing strategies in coordination with the Division Manager. The individual sets sales targets, plans for market share growth and development of action plans to penetrate new markets and leads a team of sales professionals to accomplish set goals and ensure that all planned sales activities are implemented in a timely manner. The incumbent is also responsible for Business Development, Inventory Management, Field/Category/Sales Management and Collection.
Annual Budgets and Sales/Cost Forecasts
- Assist the Division Manager to develop annual sales strategy and budgets for the Medical Division and set individual sales targets for the sales team
- Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing / new products
- Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
Sales & Marketing Management
- Meet Key Account Personnel for Business Development
- Conducts Sales Meetings regularly and review sales performance of the team. Formulate action plans that improve sales team productivity, customer-service standards and sales system improvements
- Inventory Management
Relationship Management with Principals
- Establish and maintain effective relationship with suppliers
- Achieve the agreed purchasing target
- Provide principals with accurate product forecast, market trends, customer feedback, competitor information
Business Development:
- Maintain and expand customer base by counselling sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities
Working Capital Management
- Ensure accurate sales forecast to avoid out of stocks or over stocking situation
- Use economical order quantity – Minimize buffer stocks - Order the right quantities.
- Liquidation of slow moving/short shelf life (near expiry) items. Maintain zero expired products.
- Provide the customers with statement of accounts and collect the due payment on time
Staff Training and Sales Team Management
- Accomplish people management objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting and facilitating training for current / new employees
- Communicate job expectations and plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions through the organization Performance Management system
- Partner with the Group Learning & Development team to identify training needs, formulate a training calendar that addresses identified development needs
Qualifications
- University Degree in Biomedical / Biotech Engineering
- MBA in Sales and Marketing is an advantage
Additional Information
Skills & Professional Requirements:
- Knowledge of products, industry trends and key competitors in designated geography
- Language skills – Should be fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic and Hindi is desirable
- Proficient in MS Office esp. Excel, Power Point and Word
Experience Requirements:
- 5-7 years of Sales experience, preferably in Pharmaceutical / Healthcare industry
- 3-4 years of experience of managing small to medium sized teams
