Gerresheimer Peachtree City L.P. was established in 1993 in Peachtree City, GA, as part of the Plastics & Devices Division manufacturing and assembling a variety of precision molded plastic parts for various applications in the medical industry. The subsidiary operates in an 132 K sq. ft. production facility with 200 employees. 

Job Description

  • Oversee injection molding tool development from specification creation, tool design evaluation, and supervision of tool production to optimization, customer approval, and production transfer.
  • Independently lead diverse technical project teams (e.g., tooling, measurement, and process technology).
  • Develop detailed tool specifications independently.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for defined customers and external toolmakers, ensuring effective cross-functional communication with teams like quality management.
  • Monitor project timelines and take full responsibility for meeting tool-related deadlines.
  • Regularly create and update project status reports independently.
  • Assist in maintaining deadline tracking systems.
  • Independently conduct feasibility analyses and support design-for-manufacturing assessments.
  • Evaluate tool design concepts and participate in tool design approvals.
  • Take part in initial sampling of injection molding tools and verify measurement reports for accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development and discussion of tool optimization strategies (WOAW) with the technical project team.
  • Support the optimization phase by monitoring sampling processes and organizing the OQ (Operational Qualification) run.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for the validation department.
  • Participate in implementing technical optimizations and innovative solutions for injection molding tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in designing injection molding tools.
  • 1-2 years of experience in testing tool designs in both 2D and 3D environments, with a focus on quality assessment of tooling work.
  • Solid understanding of qualification requirements, especially within the medical industry.
  • 1 year of experience in preparing documentation, such as project reports and technical documentation.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with suppliers and customers, and leading technical project teams.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Sociable and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, particularly in managing complex and multifaceted discussions.
  • Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Expertise in problem-solving methodologies, such as root cause analysis.
  • Excellent multi-project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to evaluate and interpret data accurately.
  • Proficiency in facilitation and presentation techniques.
  • Ability to apply existing knowledge to new and diverse situations.
