Job Description

Lead the design vision for Disney Dreamlight Valley, creating engaging life-simulation gameplay, memorable player experiences, and exciting new content that brings iconic Disney worlds and characters to life.

What it means on a daily basis

  • Define and evolve the gameplay vision together with the Creative Director and design leadership.
  • Own the design of new gameplay features, mechanics, activities, and content updates from concept to release.
  • Pitch innovative features and content packs, then lead their prototyping and implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with Art, UI/UX, Economy, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure features meet both creative and gameplay goals.
  • Create and maintain clear game design documentation, balancing data, and implementation guidelines.
  • Implement and iterate game content using engine tools while testing, debugging, and refining the player experience.
  • Mentor and support Game Designers, helping grow the team's expertise and design quality. What success will look like
  • Players enjoy meaningful, polished gameplay updates that enhance the Disney Dreamlight Valley experience.
  • Features are delivered on time while meeting creative, technical, and quality expectations.
  • The design team is aligned around a clear vision and continuously raising the quality of the game.

Who you would be working with

You'll work closely with the Creative Director, Game Manager, Designers, Artists, UI/UX Designers, Economy Designers, Gameplay Programmers, Producers, QA, and Disney licensors to bring new experiences to millions of players worldwide.

Qualifications

What you need to succeed

  • Proven experience shipping successful PC and/or console games as a Game Designer.
  • Strong expertise in gameplay systems, player experience, and feature design.
  • Deep understanding of game development pipelines and design methodologies.
  • Experience leading complex features from concept through release.
  • Excellent communication, pitching, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to make strategic design decisions and align multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional English and the ability to collaborate within a Ukrainian-speaking team.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Unity Editor and rapid prototyping tools.
  • Experience working on licensed IPs.
  • Background in scriptwriting, narrative design, or video direction.
