Main challenge

2D Concept Artist is responsible for producing high-quality 2D concept art, collaborating with 3D artists to ensure design accuracy and alignment with Gameloft’s style guidelines. The role also includes developing visual assets such as icons and banners, maintaining consistent quality across deliverables, and proactively identifying and resolving workflow issues to support efficient production.

What it means on a daily basis

1. Artistic and Design Ability

• Follow an pre-set art style, follow guidelines and instructions and respect technical requirements and art direction of the game
• Produces characters, environments and props concepts from briefs and instructions
• Quickly integrate and positively react to feedback given
• Show very good understanding of anatomy, composition, colour theory
• Masters painting and photo editing software

1. Creativity & Innovation

• Come up with original designs and ideas about a project’s graphics
• Perform competition, market and AI research to widen the range of references and push innovative compositions from there
• Able to deliver a good level of polish in reasonable delays

1. Communication & Organization

• Require low supervision
• Respect deadlines
• Correctly organize the files, following logic naming conventions
• Correctly get and update the tasks from Jira and provide clear status updates to the team
• Show open communication and openness to feedback
• Contributes to the game art documentation creation and updates

You will be working closely with the Producers, Studio Art Lead and the GFX Team Lead to ensure you are fully supported from both a project management and creative standpoint.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Superior eye for light, value, color and composition;
• Solid knowledge of concept art and design principles;
• Good knowledge of casual/cartoonish art style and ability to work with it
• Basic knowledge 3D tools (as a minimum: 3d blocking at concept stage)
• Basic English communication skill: able to communicate with workmates
