Job Description

As a 3D Character Artist, you will help create high-quality stylized characters and assets for Disney Dreamlight Valley a live game where players explore magical worlds alongside beloved Disney franchises characters.

You will work closely with concept artists, animators, technical artists, and the art direction team to create visually appealing and production-ready assets that match the unique Disney style and quality bar.

What it means on a daily basis

  • Create high and low poly stylized 3D character models and assets
  • Sculpt detailed characters and props using ZBrush
  • Develop lighting and rendering setups for asset presentation
  • Collaborate with 2D concept artists while respecting original designs and character morphology
  • Contribute ideas and artistic alternatives when needed
  • Work closely with technical and animation teams to ensure assets fit production pipelines
  • Optimize assets for real-time engines and in-game integration

  • Delivering high-quality stylized characters aligned with Disney visual standards
  • Creating production-ready assets optimized for game engines
  • Collaborating efficiently with cross-functional teams
  • Maintaining consistency across style, topology, and technical quality
  • Taking ownership of assets from blockout to final polish

Qualifications

Where this role can take you

  • Work on globally recognized Disney IPs

What you need to succeed

  • Strong expertise in high and low poly 3D modeling
  • Professional experience with 3ds Max, Maya or Blender
  • Strong ZBrush sculpting and texturing skills
  • Good understanding of lighting, rendering, and presentation
  • Understanding of rigging workflows and character construction
  • Strong artistic fundamentals: anatomy, perspective, volume, composition, lighting
  • Understanding of stylized art pipelines
  • Knowledge of Unity, or other real-time engines such as Unreal Engine is a plus
  • Understanding of game production pipelines is a plus
