General Dynamics Mission Systems in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide a wide range of Avionic Mission Computing Systems for a wide range Military Fast Jets, Helicopters and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems is looking to recruit several Engineering Technicians to help develop the next generation of avionics systems.

These roles are perfect for anyone looking for an entry level role who wishes to develop their knowledge of Electronics and apply it within the mission management and control systems applicable to the avionics, maritime or naval domain. This is a general Engineering role however there will be opportunity to specialise into other specific engineering domains such as Hardware, Systems, PCB design or Qualifaction.

Successful candidates will be assigned to our Engineering team to work on all aspects of the engineering life-cycle from initial concept to sustainment and end of life with our customer and other stakeholders’ products.  It may also include Design, Change management and ensuring adherence to industry legislation.

Qualifications

To be successful in becoming a member of the team you need:

  • To demonstrate a sound theoretical knowledge of Electronics and enthusiasm in one or more engineering disciplines/topics
  • Vocational certification relevant to Electronics engineering would be preferred (such as NVQ, HNC or equivalent college qualifications)
  • A willingness to pursue further education where required is necessary
  • To work closely with other Engineers and Technicians to expedite projects
  • Great problem solving skills

Additional Information

These full-time roles based in Hastings offers an attractive salary of between £21,600 - £27,000 per annum, dependant on experience, and an excellent benefits package.
