Folks VFX Toronto has an exciting opportunity for a junior Human Resources professional to work hybrid at our Toronto studios supporting the Senior HR Manager in building the HR team and infrastructure of the local HR department. This is a new full-time position available immediately in a growing organization
The HR Coordinator supports the Senior HR Manager in creating and rolling out the people-related strategies, programs, and processes for the Toronto studio and its artists, while aligning with the broader organization as much as possible. They act as the first point of contact in HR for artists in the Toronto studio.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain digital files for artists and their documents, including offer letters, performance reviews, salary increases, and immigration
· Respond to artist requests for letters and answer basic questions about benefits, pay stubs, time off, and general policies
· Posting documents on internal site(s)
· Update records for artist changes, and ensure Payroll has been updated
· Support and track stages throughout artist lifecycle, including Onboarding, New Hire Orientation, Salary Changes, Promotions, Performance Reviews, and Off-boarding
· Support Talent Acquisition in hiring process, including creating offer letters for new hires or promotions and send via DocuSign, track, & file
· Assist in drafting templates for HR documents, including letters, job descriptions, policies, and procedures
· Drafting common communications to Toronto studio artists
· Support HR projects, and Montreal HR department as needed
Must Have:
· Strong customer service orientation
· Strong attention to detail, effective time management and organizational skills
· Be a quick learner and have ability to work independently and in teams
· Curious person – analytical; able to dig into assignments and be a self-starter
· Intermediate computer systems knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
· Comfortable with and have ability to self-learn technology (we used Macs!), and navigate through internal sites to update or post various types of information
· 2-3 years of experience in HR
· CHRP designation, or in pursuit
