Job Description
In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: grow and learn through opportunities to assist with all aspects of our EHS management systems. Assist the safety and health function plant wide by assisting in the implementation of effective safety policies, procedures and training programs based on task analysis and needs assessment. Assist in developing and implementing EHS programs, policies and training initiatives. This position will require strong communication with plant and leadership members. The ideal candidate will be able to perform technical work in a wide range of environmental, health, and safety disciplines to ensure a safe work environment and achieve compliance with our Environmental, Health, Safety and Security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day Environmental, Health, Safety and Security operations including Ergonomic programs and initiatives. A successful candidate will focus at least 25% of their time on Ergonomic initiatives. Previous experience with Ergonomics is highly preferred. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide direction for Ergonomics.
- Assist with the writing and implementation of JSA/JHA assessments.
- Assist with implementation of programs, and help maintain programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure the overall health and safety of associates.
- Conduct incident investigations into accidents, incidents, injuries and complaints concerning potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the workplace.
- Perform various presentations on EHS topics to all associates including OSHA Regulatory Training, Ergonomics, and other topics.
- Collaborate with learning teams and department CI meetings. Assist with driving participation, supplying critical data, coaching and support.
- Maintain Records: training, contractor agreements and facility safety requirements.
- Assist with management of plant security.
- Identify, assess, and monitor workplace hazards that could be present in the work area; remediate hazards, and/or recommend improvements to minimize hazard potential, including ergonomic assessments and data analysis to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
- Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment.
- Provide onsite support during emergencies and emergency recovery efforts.
- Coordinate projects with EHS vendors and contractors.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:
- 3 or more years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment or Bachelor's/ Associate’s degree
- OSHA training and auditing experience
- Experience with ergonomics
- EHS and/ or ergonomic certifications highly preferred
- Experience with machine guarding and lockout/tagout
- Familiarity with relevant ergonomic software and tools for analysis and simulation
- Experience with JSA/JHA analysis
- Practical, hands-on experience with ergonomics, providing education/training, risk assessment, Incident Investigation, etc.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing priorities in a rapid growth environment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and presentation software
