Job Description
In this role, you be responsible for the day to day management of materials planning and buying to support both manufacturing’s needs and customer orders. Managing and optimizing inventory to maintain min/max levels to help the company achieve working capital goals. Responsible for maintaining MRP/ERP system to support the program schedule. Develop and maintain all material planning, purchasing, and production scheduling activities, assess requirements and plans for business needs; ensures adequate flow of goods, services and information. Collaborates with internal customers to understand the needs of the business.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, reporting to the New London, NC location on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday with the option to work remotely on Monday & Friday.
YOUR ROLE:
- Managing and maintaining proper stock levels based on forecasts and seasonality
- Ability to maintain clear and effective communication channels, both internally and externally
- Use MRP/ERP and other planning tools to ensure a continuous supply of needed materials to support our customers while maintaining targeted inventory levels
- Creating and managing bill of materials in an MRP system
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors to ensure real time delivery information and work in progress
- Interact with multiple departments, at all levels of internal and external organizations, to professionally resolve problems in a fair and ethical manner
- Proactively update internal teams on all critical supply issues
- Analyze supply chain data and report out metrics
- Provide guidance as needed to other buyers
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Supply Chain Buying/Planning experience
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of production scheduling, bills of material and MRP
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of Oracle or similar ERP/MRP systems, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook
- APICS Certification

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $71,000 - $107,800 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
