Job Description

As part of the FP&A function within the Centers of Excellence (CoE) finance team, the Senior Manager, Commercial Finance will act as a key finance business partner to the Global Product Development & Innovation (GPD&I) organization. This role will take on leadership responsibilities in financial modeling, business case development, three-year strategic planning, and operational analysis to support high-impact strategic product decisions at the portfolio and project levels. Additionally, this position will focus on establishing standardized processes, including the development of a comprehensive margin framework and CER (Capital Expenditure Request) process standardization for New Product Development (NPD), to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making.

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

What you will be doing

  • Act as the primary financial partner for GPD&I teams (Product Development Strategy, Innovation) to assess and prioritize product development opportunities.
  • Partner and support the Connected Products Group to drive value creation, provide financial guidance and insights, and support related financial activities.
  • Lead the establishment of a company-wide margin framework, ensuring consistent analysis and margin performance monitoring across the business.
  • Standardize the CER process for New Product Development (NPD), driving alignment on capital investment evaluations across all business units and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Provide business decision support by leading financial modeling for various investment scenarios, including discounted cash flow analysis and NPV calculations.
  • Own the development of comprehensive business cases for product initiatives, incorporating detailed market data, price/volume/mix analysis, and KPIs (e.g., revenue and profit walks, BOM validation).
  • Establish a common financial model across all business units, driving efficiencies and consistency in strategic portfolio decisions.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of actual results versus forecast, identifying insights to support the development of long-term strategic plans, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Prepare executive-level financial reports and presentations to inform senior leadership on performance, opportunities, and risks.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a team including hosting 1:1s, giving feedback, and conducting meaningful performance reviews.
  • Manage and deliver on special projects, with a focus on continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.

 

     

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    • 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field.
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior leadership.
    • Expertise in financial modeling, business case development, and portfolio analysis.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Experience balancing high-priority, long-term projects with immediate deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
    • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively, facilitating strategic decision-making.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Familiarity with financial planning tools like Excel, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), Tableau Desktop, and Qliksense.
    • Demonstrated experience in product development, make-vs-buy decisions, or cost of complexity analyses.
    • Experience CPG or design-to-manufacture industries preferred.
    • Experience in establishing financial frameworks and standardizing processes (e.g., CER, margin framework).
