Job Description
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our project team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing mechanical systems within our data centre construction team. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all mechanical engineering aspects of our projects are executed to the highest standards, within budget, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and review mechanical systems for data centers, including HVAC, cooling systems, plumbing, and fire protection ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with the designers, other project engineers, construction managers, and local authorities to integrate mechanical systems effectively within the project design.
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Conduct site inspections and meetings with contractors and stakeholders to monitor progress and address any technical issues promptly.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in mechanical engineering and data centre construction to drive innovation and efficiency in our projects.
- Prepare and present technical reports, design proposals, and project updates to senior management and clients.
- Ensure all mechanical engineering work adheres to environmental policies and promotes sustainable practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a preference for experience in data centre construction or similar projects.
- Proficient in mechanical design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building codes, and safety standards relevant to data centre construction.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with sustainable engineering practices and certifications (e.g., LEED, BCA Green Mark) is a plus.
- Must have legal authorization to work in Singapore.
