We are hiring a Shipping Coordinator to join our Domestic Shipping team at our Winchester, VA warehouse.  Working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.

Job Description

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the cost and time-in-transit determination and assignment of domestic carriers for daily order shipments. 

Essential duties include-

  • Route daily domestic freight according to TMS Rate Shop Tool ensuring that TNT is met at least cost to the company.
  • Route Collect/Third Party freight according to customers routing instructions per shipment.
  • Coordinate distributor and consumer product routing using customer’s on-line EDI portals and update WMS system accordingly as freight ships.
  • Review and update routing guidelines for exceptions to TMS least cost carrier selection.
  • Confirm accurate shipping window and when product needs to arrive to dispatch accordingly
  • Partner with Operations to be sure all freight is handed off with "Ready by Date" being the main focus
  • Work within the WMS system rating queue prioritizing and confirming all shipments are invoiced within the assigned customer shipping windows
  • Process small package shipments UPS through World Ship and and/or Fed Ex as needed
  • Dispatch and coordinate with available freight vendors’ full truck load freight as needed and follow-ups to ensure that final customer expectations are met.
  • Identify and suggest to management improved cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prior experience in a shipping/logistics or similar environment preferred. 
  • Microsoft Office literate and capable of learning other computer skills. 
  • Ability to operate office equipment, phone system and company software. 
  • Must be proficient in MS word, Excel, and Outlook software programs.
  • Must possess high level analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent time-management
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to work under stress, with interruptions and tight deadlines.
