Job Description

The Opportunity :
Flywire is seeking a Senior Product Manager I - SFS APAC to join the team that leads the direction of our higher education flagship Student Financial Software (SFS). Flywire’s SFS product is our all-in-one student account portal rooted in deep integration into higher education student information systems. Being a B2B2C company working with higher education clients and payers, the role demands an understanding of both client and end user’s needs, an innovative problem solving approach, and a bias towards exceptional user experience. Collaboration, relationship-building, and communication are key aspects to being successful in this role.

Product Managers at Flywire like to win. You’ll be part of the team who is focused on identifying what a winning product looks like and how it will succeed in the market. In order to accomplish this, you will own the Education Billing & Payments portion of our Student Financial Software product and be responsible for providing product leadership to an engineering team, supporting the creation of the roadmap, management of the feature backlog, and more.. What does this look like? You must …

  • Own SFS product outcomes in-region, operating autonomously while aligning to global strategy.
  • Partner directly with higher education institutions to uncover root problems and translate them into scalable, high-impact solutions.
  • Define clear problem statements, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend solution paths grounded in customer and business value.
  • Write detailed, unambiguous product requirements and collaborate closely with Engineering to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Own and prioritize the regional backlog, making data-driven decisions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive roadmap execution, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Serve as the in-region SFS subject matter expert, representing the product confidently with schools and internal teams.
  • Partner with Technical Writing and Enablement to ensure clear documentation and training materials.
  • Understand and monitor key product KPIs; design and execute tests to improve performance and outcomes.
  • Support late-stage product demonstrations and serve as a trusted product voice to help close new business.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance product discovery, documentation, analysis, and execution efficiency.

Qualifications

Here's what we are looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in higher education student finance, including 2+ years in a product management, technology, or related role.
  • Experience with student finance systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, or similar platforms, with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements through software.
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear insights, recommendations, and actionable solutions.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach; able to prioritize effectively and execute with discipline.
  • Willingness to step beyond defined responsibilities when needed to ensure successful product launches and regional outcomes.
  • Comfortable working across global time zones and supporting a distributed team when required.
  • Deep curiosity and passion for solving complex problems within the education market.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Humble and team-oriented — focused on what is best for the company, without ego or politics.
