In your role as Head of Data Engineering you will be leading our team of talented Data Engineers and have direct impact on the every day work of Data Analysts and Scientists. This will involve end-to-end ownership of building out a data platform on a modern data stack in fast-paced environments, enabling many business and operational use cases.

• Lead and grow a team of highly passionate and talented data engineers
• Provide mentorship and professional development in data engineering and DevOps domains
• Responsible for building a highly scalable data platform which is being used on a daily basis by dozens of Data professionals enabling hundreds of processes (pipelines, ML models, self-service Analytics etc.)
• Drive technology, architecture and design decisions across our entire data department considering newest technologies under the Modern Data Stack umbrella

• Bachelor degree or higher in the field of computer science, engineering, data science, math or similar discipline
• Proficiency in Python & SQL in the context of modern data engineering
• Experience in building, leading and growing highly productive teams in agile business environments
• Passion for software engineering best practices such as DevOps culture, observability, documentation, testing, coding standards, iterative working mode etc.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Airflow, Kafka and GCP cloud infrastructure are a plus
• Very good communication skills in English (spoken & written); German optional
