Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Conduct initial in-depth credit assessment of credit applications seeking financing for large residential and/or commercial real estate, this portfolio is consisting of 700 plus accounts with a portfolio value of AED 12 Billion and growing. The job role includes providing support to the Credit Managers, head of underwriting, senior underwriting and head of policies and to the head of real estate credit, mainly focusing on performing technical credit applications assessment, updating the senior management check-list for approvals and other admin tasks for the underwriting process.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Review loan proposals and related documents submitted keeping in mind the approved credit policies, procedures and market dynamics to produce high quality of credit assessment memos for underwriting purposes.
  • Adhere to & comply with departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and practices so that the work is carried out in a smooth & methodical manner.
  • Exhibit consistency with organization’s values and ethics always to demonstrate a value driven culture within the bank.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement and sustainability of policies, systems, process, and methods in line with changing needs and requirements so as to efficiently carry out the duties.
  • Have in-depth understanding of regulatory and internal retail bank policies.
  • Exhibits good communication & writing skills when preparing & submitting credit proposals to approving authorities within the Bank.
  • Back-up to the credit manager(s)

Job Context

  • Initial review of credit applications received from various business units efficiently and within the agreed SLA’s & ensuring all documents are complete. Gather collateral and other related data.
  • Contact respective RMs to gather any required or missing documents / data
  • Performing all internal credit checks required to verify customer’s credit worthiness
  • Assist Credit Managers in other credit related tasks i.e., Restructuring / Rescheduling / Deferrals / Waiver / Excess Fund Release & Release of Mortgage
  • Diarize and follow up with RMs on submission of annual reviews
  • Ensure that all approved loans and proposal related documents are complete and shared in the public folder to safeguard any missing or misplaced documents
  • Regular review of existing loan conduct and co-ordinate with rental monitoring team on rental routing and PMC issues
  • Uploading received cases in the Tracker and ensuring it is updated on daily basis & Monitor status of the active cases.
  • Ensure completion of the required MIS as required on an ongoing basis.
  • To be able to work under pressure without compromising on quality.
  • To perform any additional Job-Related tasks/projects as and when assigned by Line Manager / Credit Manager.

Qualifications

Qualification: 

  • Minimum Education required: Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance/Banking/ Commerce.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years’ relevant experience in credit/credit Administration and or banking experience.
  • Time-management skills.
  • Advanced financial and credit analysis knowledge and skills
  • Communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with various internal customers, being several coverage counter parties, credit administration team etc.
  • Detail-oriented team player with a strong understanding of Real Estate markets and credit underwriting skills.
