Job Purpose:

The Senior Engineer is responsible to enhance the monitoring of the Business-Critical applications of the enterprise and align with the standards and policies defined by the Enterprise Tools and Automation department. The Senior Engineer will serve as an SME to implement and maintain monitoring platforms using the available tools and drive down MTTD and MTTR.

Job knowledge, skills & experience:

• Overall 7+ years of experience working within a large enterprise consisting of large and diverse teams.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience on APM and Monitoring technologies
• Minimum of 3 years of experience on AppDynamics and Splunk
• Work experience in Linux.
• Extensive experience in configuring Application APM agents for technologies like JAVA, .Net, Nodejs and web server agents manually.
• Advanced Business transaction configuration in AppDynamics.
• Configuration of Health Rules and Dashboards.
• Experience in configuration of End User Monitoring for Browser RUM (BRUM) and Mobile RUM (MRUM) - iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of Monitoring Extensions and troubleshooting them – MQ, IIB Agents and Extensions, Datapower.
• Design and implement custom search and reports in AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Knowledge of automation of agent deployments using tools like Ansible
• Container Instrumentation on AWS and Azure
• Analytics and Custom metrics configuration.
• Knowledge of HTTP and MIDC Data Collectors
• Exposure to Heap and thread dump.
• Knowledge of JMX Configurations of metrics.

Academics:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Certifications (preferred):

• AppDynamics Certified Implementation Professional
• AppDynamics Certified Associate Administrator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

APM Tools (At least one) – AppDynamics, Splunk, NewRelica, Dynatrace

Programming Languages - Java / .Net

Operating Systems – Linux

Automation – GitLab, Ansible

Container Orchestration - Kubernetes

• Ability to make decisions and drive changes.

Excellent Communication skills and able to communicate with Senior stakeholders as well as with the technical teams.
