Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

This role is primarily responsible to review the high-risk application alerts generated by the Onboarding Fraud Monitoring & Prevention System (OFS). In addition, the role will lead a team of OFS specialists and manage daily BAU of alerts monitoring, system enhancements, rules tuning suggestions, conduct UAT on new product implementations and addition of new rules.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Review high-risk / Suspicious alerts generated by OFS and take appropriate decision to accept or decline applications of both the asset and liability products of the bank
  • Oversee a team of analysts on daily monitoring of alerts and to make sure the alerts are actioned on agreed TAT within SLA.
  • Assigning daily alerts to the team for review which are triggered on fraud prevention/detection systems and to make sure assigned cases are completely actioned before EOD.
  • Provide guidance to the team on complex investigations and conclude the findings.
  • Review and analyse defined rules and suggest tuning feedback to respective teams to improve quality of alerts to maximise true matches and minimize false positives.
  • Produce different MIS as per management requirements by extracting and analysing different data sets.
  • Conduct UAT during new product implementations, additional new rule executions and provide business sign off.
  • Change defined rule sets from detection mode to prevention after data analysis on effectiveness of the rules.
  • Prepare monthly shift roaster of the staff and maintain attendance records of the team.
  • Review of documents/application form to review the alert and making decision on the alert.
  • Referral of confirmed frauds to investigators for further workflow.
  • Review and approve blacklisting records of confirmed fraudster details in the relevant monitoring systems to prevent them from future on boarding.

Job Context

Specific Accountabilities

  • Prepare monthly duty roaster for the team in line with the process shift requirements and communicate it to the team. 
  • Plan and execute manpower resource back-up in case of unplanned absences of the team members.
  • Report system downtime incidents to the line manager and to the concerned departments and follow-up until restoration.
  • Maintaining daily/weekly run rate of action on alerts.
  • Providing inputs on rule updates to maximize fraud prevention & minimize false positive rates.
  • Proving daily/weekly/monthly MI on the alerts along with action taken.
  • Referring relevant alerts to the investigation team which require field investigation.

 

 

Qualifications

Threshold Qualifications:

  • Graduate
  • Preferably a Certified Fraud Examiner / AML certified

Years & Nature of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fraud risk management
