Business Analyst – Technology & Transformation

  • Full-time
  • Location: Perth

Company Description

Fenix Resources Ltd (ASX: FEX) is a fully integrated mining, logistics and port services business operating in Western Australia’s Mid-West. With a current production rate of over 4 million tonnes of iron ore per annum and a clear pathway to 10Mtpa, Fenix is building a long-term, sustainable operation.

Fenix is growing at Weld Range following the securing of a 290Mt high-grade iron ore resource, underpinning its move toward 10Mtpa and driving expanded mining and logistics activity across the region. Supported by strong global partners and a fully integrated mine-to-port network, Fenix is entering a new phase of growth, backed by a clear production plan and pipeline of development projects.

Job Description

Location: Perth CBD
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent

The Business Analyst – Technology & Transformation is a hands-on, business-facing role that connects Fenix teams with the IT & Business Transformation function. Working across Mining, Road, Port and Corporate, the role proactively discovers opportunities to improve how people work through better systems, processes, data, automation and AI.

The role turns those opportunities into practical outcomes, from discovery and analysis through solution design, testing, rollout and adoption. It requires a broad understanding of Fenix’s systems and close collaboration with our data, application development, AI and IT specialists.

The position also helps deliver major initiatives, including ERP implementation and Fenix’s workforce and operational AI strategies, while keeping project priorities, progress and executive reporting on track. It suits a resourceful person who enjoys getting into the detail, taking ownership and seeing improvements through to completion.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Business Discovery: Proactively run discovery sessions with operational and corporate teams; understand how work is done, challenge assumptions and identify worthwhile improvement opportunities.
  • Systems & Process Understanding: Build a working knowledge of Fenix’s ERP, operational applications, reporting, data flows and connected systems to understand their impact across the business.
  • Business Analysis & Solution Design: Translate needs into clear problem statements, process maps, practical requirements, options and success measures; recommend solutions that deliver genuine value.
  • Collaboration with Technical Specialists: Work closely with data, business applications, AI and IT colleagues to explore the right response, whether a report, integration, workflow, automation, AI capability or application.
  • Project Delivery: Take assigned initiatives from concept through planning, testing, implementation and handover, coordinating stakeholders, actions, dependencies and issues along the way.
  • ERP & Strategic Programs: Support ERP rollout and the delivery of Fenix’s broader IT, workforce AI and operational AI strategies, converting agreed priorities into practical changes.
  • Hands-on Implementation: Get involved in system setup, testing, user acceptance, data investigation, troubleshooting and solution refinement as needed; work alongside specialists rather than simply handing work off.
  • Training & Adoption: Help employees prepare for new systems and ways of working through clear communication, training, support and feedback after go-live.
  • Project & Team Coordination: Keep the IT project portfolio, trackers, actions and priorities up to date; follow through with project owners and help the team maintain momentum and visibility.
  • Leadership Reporting: Prepare concise progress updates, risks, decisions and benefits summaries for the Head of IT & Business Transformation and for CFO, executive and Board reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review results and user feedback, measure benefits where practical and identify further opportunities to improve efficiency, service and operational performance.

Experience & Technical Capabilities

  • Relevant Experience: Ideally 3+ years in business analysis, systems implementation, process improvement or technology-enabled change. Demonstrated ability and initiative matter more than years in a title.
  • Practical Delivery: Experience leading workshops, defining needs, working with technical teams and helping deliver solutions into everyday business use.
  • Systems & Tools: Confident with business applications, Excel and common project tools. Exposure to ERP, Power BI, SQL, reporting, integration or automation tools is advantageous.
  • AI & Technical Aptitude: Regular, thoughtful use of modern AI tools and willingness to learn new technology are highly valued. Software development experience is not required.
  • Industry & Qualifications: Exposure to mining, logistics or other operational environments and relevant qualifications are useful, but not essential for a capable candidate.
