Job Description

The Role

The Platforms team at Fastmarkets builds and maintains business critical SaaS platforms used every day to run our business. The primary platforms supported by the team are Salesforce and Mulesoft. We have an exciting roadmap of transformation projects, along with “business as usual” (BAU) and support workstreams.

As a Platform Developer (Salesforce) you will be part of a cross-functional Scrum team of Salesforce specialists building, testing and implementing new features for large projects. In addition, about 20% of your time will be spent working on BAU and support tickets. As a mid-level role, you will be running small projects independently and contributing towards the delivery of large projects.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Platforms Solution Architect.

Principal Accountabilities

Salesforce Configuration, Customisation and Development

  • Solution design for small projects and BAU enhancements, leveraging out of the box Salesforce capability as much as possible and minimising customisation and development.
  • Independently deliver small projects and BAU enhancements by enhancing Salesforce out of the box functionality
  • Support delivery of large, complex projects, working in collaboration with senior team members
  • Develop Flows, Validation Rules, Approval Processes, page layouts, Lightning App Builder, Apex classes, triggers, test classes, Lightning Web Components, integrations and automations, as required to deliver projects.
  • Follow development standards and produce good documentation
  • Perform code releases in a repeatable and controlled manner

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Work closely with both team members and across technology to deliver projects
  • Engage with business stakeholders to verify requirements and support rollout of features.
  • Be visible in team stand-ups, demos, and retros, contributing ideas and sharing progress.

Learning and Development

  • Gain and maintain relevant Salesforce certifications.
  • Engage with internal training resources, mentoring, and peer learning opportunities, to develop skills that improve your effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date with new Salesforce releases, tools, and platform capabilities.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

  • 3 years+ experience as a developer on Salesforce projects
  • Experience with both Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, including knowledge of relevant business processes (e.g. opportunities, quotes, case management)
  • Strong technical understanding of Salesforce, including object relationships, security model, Flow, Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Good understanding of agile delivery methods, Scrum preferred.
  • Confident managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, Gearset).
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to estimate tasks accurately, keeping stakeholders informed as required
  • Motivated self-starter, able to operate independently
  • Salesforce certified Administrator and Developer
  • Relevant IT degree or equivalent

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with enterprise integrations (APIs, middleware, ETL tools).
  • Experience implementing Mulesoft, CPQ or Agentforce
  • Other coding languages such as Java or Python
