Role Overview

The Enterprise Architecture function governs Experian’s Enterprise Architecture by ensuring quality architected solutions are embedded across Experian’s business. Enterprise Architecture drives the development of Technology Strategy and Roadmap securing the reciprocal alignment of business requirements with Global Enterprise Architecture vision and strategy.

Working closely with engineering, security, risk and business stakeholders, the Enterprise Architect shapes strategic direction, guides major technology decisions, and ensures architecture supports long-term business outcomes.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve regional technology strategy aligned to Global Enterprise Architecture and business priorities.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints, capability maps, technology standards and reference architectures across business, application, data and infrastructure domains.
  • Lead architectural governance by reviewing and approving significant technology solutions through Architecture Review Boards and other governance forums.
  • Ensure solutions balance business value, simplicity, resilience, security, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic architectural advice to senior technology leadership, supporting investment decisions, transformation programmes, complex initiatives and technology due diligence activities.
  • Drive cloud-first architecture and modernisation strategies, with particular emphasis on AWS and enterprise platform evolution.
  • Identify emerging technologies, assess their business value, and recommend adoption where they strengthen Experian's technology strategy.
  • Work with engineering, security, product and delivery teams to establish reusable architecture patterns, standards and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships across the architecture community, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and consistent architectural practices.
  • Mentor architects and technology leaders while contributing to the ongoing development of Enterprise Architecture across the organisation.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience

  • Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture or senior technology leadership within large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated success defining enterprise technology strategy and delivering large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong experience establishing architecture governance and leading enterprise-level technology decision making.
  • Practical experience designing cloud-first architectures, preferably on AWS, across modern application, data and infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives, engineering teams, suppliers and business stakeholders to influence strategic technology direction.
  • Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture practices, governance frameworks and capability-based planning.
  • Skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive level.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capability, balancing technical, commercial and operational considerations.
  • Ability to simplify complex technology topics and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborative leadership style with experience coaching architects and promoting architecture best practice.
  • Qualifications

    Extensive practical experience delivering enterprise architecture and measurable business outcomes is the primary requirement. Professional architecture certifications, cloud certifications (particularly AWS), or relevant technology qualifications are advantageous.

  • Broad technical knowledge spanning cloud platforms, distributed systems, application architecture, data platforms, integration, security and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with technology modernisation, cloud migration, application rationalisation and technical debt reduction.
  • Understanding of regulatory, security and operational resilience requirements within enterprise environments.
