Job Description

The Experian Consumer Services (ECS) Business Governance team is looking for a dynamic and Risk & Business Governance Expert Analyst. This Analyst will lead our governance efforts across data protection, data governance, and data privacy policies, process, and standards. This role is critical to ensuring our organization's data practices and policies are secure and aligned with new regulatory and technological landscapes. You have data and technical knowledge, and process management skills, across multiple departments. You will report to the Senior Director of the ECS Business Governance team.

Responsibilities:

Data & Privacy Governance

  • Lead and evolve enterprise data governance and privacy programs grounded in ethical, inclusive, and responsible data use.
  • Support compliance with global and local privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Oversee key data and privacy processes, including data requests, data quality, documentation, privacy reviews.
  • Define clear standards for data ownership, stewardship, access, classification, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to align privacy and data governance policies with organizational values.

Business Governance & Strategy

  • Align data privacy and governance efforts with enterprise risk and compliance strategies.
  • Share program insights, risks, and outcomes with senior leaders in clear and accessible ways.
  • Build organizational awareness through education on privacy, data ethics, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in data governance, privacy compliance, or data privacy policy; experience in AI policy & governance
  • Understanding & knowledge of USA local and global data privacy regulations. Certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CDMP, or AI ethics credentials (e.g., IEEE, NIST)
  • Robust technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, AI, and databases. Experience in AWS, SQL, Excel (can perform complex functions). Jira, and data tables (Python, Asana experience)
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration and partner influence. Comfortable navigating in fast-evolving regulatory environments.
